A big decision in the NBA Draft
Bronny James intends to stay in the NBA Draft for 2024. This is true even when some players, like Johnell Davis, Alex Karaban, and Caleb Love, decided to go away. They want to play for a year longer in college, which is why. LeBron James was presumably among the first to be aware of this. Even still, he could not help but be proud of his son for having the courage to make the difficult choices in his life. In fact, he promoted the potential 2024 NBA Draft pick in his most recent Instagram story.
He wrote, “Let’s get to it, Bronny!!!” in response to Bronny James’ choice to remain in the draft.
This might not at all be a bad call from the Lakers legends’ son. Bronny has been one of the biggest beneficiaries of the combine. He has been a steady riser on draft boards ever since. His more consistent shooting along with He shined a bit more since he was playing better because of the spacing. It also helps that he is not overshadowed at the guard position by players like Isaiah Collier and Boogie Ellis.
His projected draft position of late first- to mid-second round has become increasingly certain in the weeks leading up to the NBA Draft. He will undoubtedly benefit greatly if there are any drops in the lottery or in the middle of the selection. However, similar to his worries at USC, he will only succeed if he fits the system precisely, thus being picked early might not be the best option.
Forgoing the Lakers legend’s dream
Throughout his career, LeBron James has been consistently vocal about one thing. He really wants to play alongside Bronny James before he calls it a career. But, Bronny has emphasized that he will do whatever it takes to get picked in the NBA Draft even if it means not getting to play with his father. He noted that this was not his dream and it was his dad’s.
All of this simply indicates that when the regular season begins, the two will probably be opponents on the court. But going into the offseason, there is still a lot of doubt surrounding it. He still needs to sign a contract and get selected. Subsequently, he must exhibit significant bursts of excellence during the Summer League. In the interim, he will have competition from others for rotational minutes.
Bronny must keep that roster slot if he is not cut prior to the start of the 82 games. This is all prior to him and his father coming into contact. For the prospective NBA player coming out of the USC basketball system, this will be a difficult year.
