Former Springbok coach Jake White has taken aim at Rassie Erasmus, criticizing the selection strategy behind the current Springbok alignment camps. White, now director of rugby at the Bulls, expressed concern over what he sees as inconsistent and unclear criteria used to invite players to the national preparation camps ahead of the 2025 season.

Speaking to local media, White questioned the logic behind calling up players who have limited game time or are not performing consistently at domestic level. “It’s hard to understand the message being sent,” White stated. “You’ve got guys performing week in and week out in the URC being overlooked, while others with barely a few minutes on the field are in the mix.”
