Two players from South African franchises are in Opta’s 2024-25 URC Team of the Season

The team was selected using the Opta Index, based on players’ average score per match, with a minimum of eight appearances required to be considered for selection.

Sharks flank Vincent Tshituka and Stormers flyhalf Sacha Feinberg-Mngomezulu (SA’s URC Player of the Season) were both selected, along with Edinburgh’s South African loosehead prop, Pierre Schoeman.

There are three players from champions Leinster, but none from losing finalists, the Vodacom Bulls.

Munster No 8 Gavin Coombes was the top ranking player.
