Former Norwich City majority shareholder Delia Smith has taken aim at Ipswich Town fans during a recent podcast appearance.

The 83-year-old appeared alongside husband Michael Wynn-Jones on the Talk Norwich City Podcast this week.

During the pod, the Stowmarket-based chef was asked to give a final message to the NCFC fans, and she used the moment to remind supporters of the difference between Norwich and Ipswich fans when faced with adversity.

She said: “Thank you for being the best football supporters in the world, because they are the best football supporters in the world.

“We got relegated and we sold the same number of season tickets, when Ipswich Town were in trouble, their stadium was half-empty, their fans didn’t turn up!

“Our supporters, they’ve always turned up.”

Following Town’s relegation back to the Championship following their defeat to Newcastle, the two clubs will do battle again next season.
