Radio presenter Nick Feinberg has clapped back at internet users feeling the urge to critically delve into the racial identity of his son Sacha Feinberg-Mngomezulu.
The 22-year-old former Junior Springbok captain and current Stormers player recently made his international debut for the senior Springbok team in their victory against Wales at Twickenham Stadium in London.
In the game, Sacha showed just how confident and composed he can be at an elite level by slotting a penalty kick from nearly 60 meters.
With Sacha showing off a perfect display, there was nobody prouder than his father Nick, who took to social media to share several posts of how proud he was.
But while Sacha may have won the confidence of many South Africans who may have wondered what the future of SA rugby will look like after the current seniors retire, there was one user who took a chance at exploring Sacha’s ethnicity.
The young flyhalf and his famous brother Nathan Mngomezulu, popularly known as the contestant on Netflix’ reality show, Too Hot To Handle, are born to a white British-born father Nick, and a black South African mom in the form of advocate Makhosazana Mngomezulu.
However recently a user commented on the matter writing:
This is Springbok player Sacha Feinberg Mngomezulu and with his brother Nathan. They were birthed by Nick Feinberg and Makhosazana Mngomezulu. So called Coloureds came about this way but today a lot of them claim to be “Khoisan”
In response, Nick defended his family writing:
His post has since received tons of support from many others, who criticised the X users comments.
Meanwhile, Sacha’s long-range goal seemed to have been more than enough to impress Dr. Rassie Erasmus, as the Springbok coach not only smiled from ear to ear after it happened+ but has now also included the player for his reduced 39-man squad ahead of their matches against Ireland.
