The Miami Hurricanes are coming off a 2024 season that saw Mario Cristobal’s team post a 10-3 record, but missed an opportunity to play for the ACC title with losses to Georgia Tech and Syracuse.
To help take some of the sting out of a late-season meltdown that saw Miami lose three of their final four games, the 2025 schedule shows that nine games Miami will play will be inside the borders of Florida, including eight home games and the first seven to begin the season.
Miami kicks off the 2025 season Aug. 31 by hosting the Fighting Irish of Notre Dame.
In the month of September alone, the Hurricanes will play inside the friendly sidelines of Hard Rock Stadium, against Bethune-Cookman, USF and Florida. Miami has an open date on Sept. 27 before they travel to Tallahassee to take on their arch-rivals, Florida State, on Oct. 4.
After another open date, Miami hosts Louisville (Oct. 17) and Stanford (Oct. 25) before traveling out of state for the first time to take on SMU in Dallas on Nov. 1.
Miami will also host Syracuse and NC State in the month of November before traveling on the road to finish the season at Virginia Tech (6-7) and Pitt (7-6).
However, this schedule is challenging. Of the home opponents listed above, five had winning records last season: Notre Dame, USF, Florida, Louisville and Syracuse combined for a 48-20 record.
It has been 12 years since Miami had a schedule that was this unique. In 2013, the Hurricanes did not play outside the State of Florida until mid-October. Under Al Golden, Miami finished 9-4 that season.
Hurricanes’ fans are hoping that with 15 returning starters, plus a talented transfer class that includes the $4 million man Carson Beck, Miami can take advantage of such a unique gauntlet of opponents come August.
