FAYETTEVILLE — Kelsi Musick auditioned for the Arkansas women’s basketball coaching job Nov. 21, 2024.

Newly hired Arkansas women’s basketball coach Kelsi Musick (right) speaks Monday, March 24, 2025, alongside Hunter Yurachek, athletics director for the University of Arkansas, during a press conference to introduce Musick at Bud Walton Arena. Musick comes to Arkansas from Oral Roberts University.

Musick, then the coach of Oral Roberts, came into Bud Walton Arena and her team handily defeated the Razorbacks 94-73. It was the first of two victories over SEC teams for the Golden Eagles, who 27 days later won 76-63 at Missouri.

The game against Arkansas was no fluke. Musick’s team led for all but 85 seconds.

Musick sat at the podium inside the Bud Walton Arena interview room 123 days later to be formally introduced as the 10th head coach in Arkansas women’s basketball history.
