Springboks Bolster Stormers for Crucial Away Clash Against Scarlets

The Stormers selected a formidable line-up that boasts eight Springbok players for their crucial United Rugby Championship (URC) match against the Scarlets in Wales.

Kick-off is scheduled for 5pm on Saturday at the renowned Parc y Scarlets, where the Stormers aim to continue their surge in the competition.

After an impressive victory against the Bulls at Loftus Versfeld, the Cape side welcomes back flyhalf Sacha Feinberg-Mngomezulu, who is returning from injury.

His experience and skill will be crucial ahead of the challenges posed by their Welsh opponents. Alongside him in the backline will be Herschel Jantjies starting at scrumhalf, with Dewaldt Duvenage, Jurie Matthee, and Damian Willemse ready to make their mark from the bench.

In addition to Feinberg-Mngomezulu’s return, the forward pack sees Marcel Theunissen step in at blindside flank, filling the gap left by the injured Ben-Jason Dixon.

he front row, consisting of Frans Malherbe, Joseph Dweba, and Ali Vermaak, brings a wealth of international experience that will be pivotal against a Scarlets side that has demonstrated impressive form this season.

John Dobson, the Stormers’ director of rugby, highlighted the significance of being prepared for the onslaught.

“It is obviously fantastic to have players of Sacha and Damian’s quality back in the group and we have made good use of the break to prepare for this game,” Dobson said, emphasising the importance of maintaining focus for the full 80 minutes.

They’ve targeted this clash for a victory overseas before embarking on their trip to Ireland where Ulster awaits. That will be their final league game away from home before ending the round-robin season at the DHL Stadium.
