Albion have confirmed a supporter was arrested on suspicion of racially abusing a QPR player during Saturday’s fixture at The Hawthorns.
The supporter was arrested by West Midlands Police for an incident in the West Stand, which is understood to have taken place in the first half and was reported at half-time.
Albion have suspended the supporter’s season ticket and the individual has been threatened with a lifetime ban if found guilty.
West Midlands Police are appealing for witnesses and can be contacted via their website or being called on 101.
QPR confirmed a home fan had been detained by the force on suspicion of a racially aggravated public order offence.
The Baggies have pledged their full support towards the investigation and are in close contact with the visitors from west London. Albion reiterated their strong stance against discrimination and support the strongest possible legal punishment.
Hosts Albion were 1-0 winners against QPR via a first-half penalty from Adam Armstrong. Before half-time Darnell Furlong was sent off for an alleged elbow against QPR winger Koki Saito.
