For a college football program that had more former players than anyone else the last three years in the Super Bowl, the next next bunch of Oklahoma Sooners is headed to the NFL.
The NFL Draft will be April 24-26 at Lambeau Field in Green Bay, Wisconsin. Before that, though, there will be pro days around the country, including in Norman, and the NFL Scouting Combine on Feb. 24-March 3 in Indianapolis.
Three Sooners were invited to the NFL Scouting Combine: defensive back Billy Bowman, defensive lineman Ethan Downs and linebacker Danny Stutsman. That trio isn’t the only OU players looking to get an opportunity in the NFL, though.
Here’s a look at every Sooner who has publicly declared for the 2025 NFL Draft so far, and who else could join the list.
Billy Bowman Jr. – DB
Billy Bowman made some noise during the Senior Bowl and could impress scouts even more with his speed at the combine.
Bowman already has a lot of experience with 41 college starts under his belt. He was First-Team All-Big 12 in 2023 and Third-Team All-SEC last season.
Look for Bowman to go as early as the third round if he keeps impressing before the draft gets here.
Ethan Downs – DL
Scouts are enticed enough by Ethan Downs that he receivd an invite to the NFL Scouting Combine.
From Weatherford, Oklahoma, Downs was a three-year starter for the Sooners with 37 starts. He was a two-time Second-Team All-Big 12 honoree in 2022 and 2023.
Downs will likely be a Day 2 pick, and has the size and ability to develop into an NFL starter.
Danny Stutsman – LB
Danny Stutsman could have been in this position last year, but instead chose to return to OU and be part of the Sooners’ first season in the SEC.
Stutsman started 37 games for the Sooners and ranks ninth in OU history with 376 career tackles. He surpassed at least 100 tackles his last three seasons, all of which he started every game during.
After his senior season, Stutsman was named a consensus All-American and Butkus Award finalist.
At best, Stutsman has been projected to go in the second round, but it more than likely will be after that in the third or fourth round.
Michael Tarquin – OL
Michael Tarquin spent just one season at OU after transferring from USC and was at Florida before that.
Tarquin started seven games for the Sooners last season and missed three games because of injury. He played at both tackle spots.
Tarquin will likely need to sign an undrafted free agent deal.
