AC Milan

Strict warning: Open letter to Kyle Walker

Kyle Walker has been warned that “Milan is a danger city”, with the England international already enduring much-publicised off-the-field issues.

WHAT HAPPENED?

The veteran defender finds himself in Italy after taking the decision to sever ties with Premier League champions Manchester City. At the age of 34, a fresh start has been sought at San Siro. The decision to leave a professional comfort zone was driven in part by sporting ambition.

THE BIGGER PICTURE

Walker is, however, also seeking to escape the drama that fathering two children with former Love Island contestant Lauryn Goodman has caused. That extramarital activity has placed considerable strain on his relationship with wife Annie Kilner.

DID YOU KNOW?

Walker is yet to be joined in Milan by Kilner and their four kids, with the experienced full-back being left on his own for long periods in new surroundings. He is, however, hopeful that his family will soon be alongside him – potentially with documentary cameras in tow.

WHAT MASSIMO AMBROSINI SAID

Milan legend Massimo Ambrosini – speaking to bet365, who offer the latest UEFA Champions League odds here – is hoping that Walker can avoid any more distractions in his private life, telling GOAL: “I’ve heard about (Walker’s issues), the only problem is that Milan is a danger city.

“But I think he needs to focus on what he is able to do very well and that is football. AC Milan especially is one of the best clubs in Italy so he is in the right place at the right time.”

WHAT NEXT FOR AC MILAN?

Walker made a positive start to his spell in Milan, but has seen the Rossoneri tumble out of the Champions League following a shock knockout phase play-off defeat to Feyenoord. They will be back in Serie A action on Saturday when taking in a trip to Torino.
