‘What a player’: Pedro Porro reacts after hearing transfer news out of Tottenham

Tottenham Hotspur’s summer transfer window has been largely dominated by player exits with only three signings made.

And even with those three signings, there will be some Tottenham fans who will highlights that one of them is not exactly a new signing in Timo Werner and Yang Min-Hyeok does not arrive until January.

Ange Postecoglou is, therefore, currently heading into the new season with only Archie Gray at his disposal who was at the club last season.

Despite this, Spurs have made a really positive start to pre-season with three wins from their opening three games.

One player who has looked bright so far this summer is Pedro Porro and the Spurs right-back has now been reacting to the recent departure of Bryan Gil.

Pedro Porro reacts to Bryan Gil’s Tottenham exit

It would be fair to say Gil’s transfer to north London has proven to be nothing short of a disaster for all parties.

Since landing at Spurs back in 2021, the Spaniard has been able to provide Tottenham a return of just two assists across his 43 appearances.

This has recently seen the Spanish winger left out of the Tottenham squad to travel to Asia for their pre-season tour.

Gil – alongside compatriot Sergio Reguilon – was allowed to seek a transfer and that is exactly what he has done.

On Monday, it was announced that Gil would be making the move to La Liga side Girona who will be playing Champions League football this season.

It appears to be another straight loan deal for Gil with no option or obligation to buy highlighted in the official announcements.

Girona shared the news of their social media platforms with their former player, Porro, reacting to the news on their Instagram post.

“What a player for the family! On the magician!” Porro replied.

Tottenham would have hoped for a sale on Bryan Gil

Having racked up just 243 minutes of action under Postecoglou in his first season at the helm, it is apparent that Gil is not a player in the plans at Spurs.

Having gone 43 appearances without even scoring a goal is pretty damning and does not reflect well on a player who Spurs spent significantly on.

Yet the Lilywhites now find themselves sending the Spaniard out on loan for a third time as he looks destined to follow the path of Tanguy Ndombele in failing to land a permanent move after multiple loans.

Gil now has just one-year remaining on his deal. So, it will be interesting to see whether Spurs have a solution to avoid losing him for free next summer.
