‘I heard’: Darren Ambrose states what he has been told about Tottenham’s new boy Lucas Bergvall
Lucas Bergvall is making some impression for Tottenham Hotspur in pre-season.
After visiting Japan recently, Ange Postecoglou and his squad are currently in South Korea as part of their summer trip around Asia.
In their most recent preseason match, Tottenham defeated Vissel Kobe; the London team has now won three straight and scored ten goals.
Following the match, Destiny Udogie gave new kid Bergvall a lot of praise. The 18-year-old joined from Swedish Allsvenskan team Djurgarden in January.
Due to the hype and commotion surrounding the midfield player, there was a great deal of enthusiasm when Spurs acquired his talents.
Not only is Bergvall the young kid on the block making an impression, but Archie Gray is doing the same thing since moving from Leeds United to Tottenham.
Before the new Premier League season begins, Darren Ambrose clarified that these young children might now dethrone some of the senior lads from a starting berth.
If you go back to Rodrigo Bentancur’s home loss to Manchester City, his injury-plagued campaign from the previous season did not help with either his form or his attitude.
If you are a fan of Tottenham, though, you should be happy because Ambrose mentioned some of their up-and-coming players and acknowledged that he does not know a lot about Bergvall.
The former Premier League midfielder, who is a boyhood Spurs fan, did share that he has ‘heard’ that Bergvall is a ‘very good talent’, as he told talkSPORT (27/07/24 at 5:05 pm).

“With Papa Sarr, with Archie Gray, if he is a midfielder, because I think he is a fantastic player,” said Ambrose. “Is Benteancur going to be the first choice?
“We have Lucas Bergvall as well, who I don’t know much about, but I have heard that he is a very good talent as well. Is he (Bentancur) going to be the first choice? I don’t think he is, so maybe he is one to make way as well, which is quite sad.
“Bentancur and Kulusevski, two players who transformed our season, a couple of seasons ago and they could be the two make way.”
Will any of the young guns start?
Tottenham will travel to the Midlands to take on newly-promoted Leicester City for their opening game of the new season.
From Son Heung-min to Pedro Porro. Some names will certainly start if they are fit and able to do so, with the London club also having a Europa League campaign to deal with.
But will Postecoglou chuck in a few young guns because they are looking rather impressive in pre-season?!
Gray is probably the one who is standing out and Spurs didn’t pay big bucks for him to sit on the bench, with the Leeds academy product also able to play as a right-back.
