“Medical booked”: QPR is expected to defeat Hull City in a £2 million victory.
QPR appear to have beaten Championship rivals Hull City to complete a deal for FC Lugano striker Zan Celar with a medical booked for the player ahead of a move to Loftus Road.
That’s according to Football Insider, who have labelled the business ‘something of a coup’ for the R’s. The London club looked in desperate need of extra firepower up front with Sinclair Armstrong on his way to Bristol City and Lyndon Dykes linked with Blackburn Rovers.

Celar will join Liam Morrison, Hevertton, and Paul Nardi as summer signings in West London as Marti Cifuentes prepares for his first full campaign in charge of the side. The 25-year-old may be a familiar name to football fans having featured for Slovenia at Euro 2024, coming off the bench in the 0-0 Group Stage draw against England.
Hull City had also been heavily linked with the former Roma man, who has been playing his football with Lugano in Switzerland since 2021. The fee agreed between QPR and the club is touted to be around £2 million.
The 2022 Swiss Cup winner is set to complete his move comfortably in time for the Championship opener against West Brom on August 10 at Loftus Road. Celar is an out-and-out striker and looks set to play through the middle for QPR next season. He bagged 21 goals in all competitions across 49 appearances for Lugano last season.
In March, Slovenian outfit nogomania carried a report on the player’s goalscoring exploits in Switzerland last season. The outlet praised the player’s ‘remarkable scoring ability’ and ‘goal-scoring prowess’ in a glowing report.

Celar will compete with January signing Michael Frey to lead the line for QPR this season, with Dykes also in the mix if he remains an R’s player despite transfer links. The Scotland international managed just six Championship goals last season with Frey only netting once since arriving earlier in 2024.
