CELTIC boss Brendan Rodgers is hoping to add to his squad that will fly to the USA a week tomorrow.
The Hoops gaffer is gearing up for three pre-season games against DC United, Manchester City and Chelsea before the Premiership kicks off against Kilmarnock at Parkhead on Flag Day three weeks on Sunday.
The champions have been in talks with Norwich City about Adam Idah and Benfica over Paulo Bernardo after the striker and midfielder impressed during their loan spells last term.
However, business has yet to be done while Rodgers is also scouring the market for a replacement keeper for Joe Hart, who, of course, retired at the age of 37 after the Scottish Cup victory over Philippe Clement’s Ibrox side at Hampden on May 25.

Quizzed on the possibility of imminent arrivals, Rodgers, speaking to the Scottish Sun, answered: “It’s natural to ask that question because we’re a club that needs to improve the squad.
“I mentioned before about getting at least a couple in before we go to America. That’s still the idea.
“We all know we lost three players and they were very important players for us.
“That alone demonstrates we need to make that right and we also have to improve.”
Celtic’s transfer business so far gas been one way with wingers Sead Haksabanovic and Rocco Vata quitting Parkhead this summer.
The Sweden-born Montengro international spent last season on loan at Championship outfit Stoke City before leaving on a permanent basis for Malmo in a deal worth around £2.2million.
Teenager Vata joined Watford last week after rejecting a contract extension and the Hoops will receive something in the region of £240,000 in training compensation for the Republic of Ireland Under-21 international.
