€20-30 million-rated attacker wanted by PL club wants to join Tottenham instead

Crystal Palace target Marcus Edwards would favour a return to his former club Tottenham Hotspur.

Spurs have been linked with their former academy graduate Marcus Edwards as they look to add more depth to the flanks. Crystal Palace are pushing hard for his signature but according to Record, the Sporting CP forward wants to return to his former club instead.

Edwards came up the ranks at Tottenham and was a part of their club for 12 years before joining Vitória Guimarães in 2019. Spurs secured a 50% sell-on clause when they decided to part ways with the winger. While he did make a move to Sporting CP in the winter of 2022, Tottenham are still entitled to 30% of his future sell-on fee.

The 25-year-old is an important part of Ruben Amorim’s first team and he even contributed towards 15 goals (6 goals, 9 assists) last season. While he still has two years left on his deal, the player seems keen on making a return to England and he could be available for a fee of around €20-30 million this summer.

The people who are interested in signing him are Crystal Palace. Oliver Glasner, their manager, is a huge fan of the winger and would be thrilled to have him available. During his time at Eintracht Frankfurt, he was hoping to sign him. Although it didn’t occur at the time, Glasner is currently advocating for it.

The athlete isn’t interested in moving to Selhurst Park, despite the Eagles’ desire to add him to their roster in the summer. He wants to join Tottenham, the team he played for growing up. Spurs will receive a significant discount because they still own more than 30% of his future sales, so they might consider him as a cheap way to bolster their attack.
