The Seminoles beat the Bulldogs for a blue chip Georgia defensive lineman
Mike Norvell and the Florida State Seminoles have landed another verbal commitment for #Tribe25.
Defensive tackles coach Odell Haggins is a happy man with this news, because the newest member of FSU’s 2025 recruiting class is blue-chip defensive tackle Kevin Wynn.
Wynn is a defensive tackle for Greene County High School in Georgia. He is 6’2″ and weighs 320 pounds. According to 247Sports Composite, he is presently ranked as the 194th best player in the US (29th best in GA and 24th best in DL).
Over two dozen other offers from teams like Alabama Crimson Tide, Auburn Tigers, Arkansas Razorbacks, Florida Gators, Georgia Bulldogs, Louisville Cardinals, LSU Tigers, Miami Hurricanes, Michigan Wolverines, NC State Wolfpack, North Carolina Tar Heels, South Carolina Gamecocks, Tennessee Volunteers, Texas Longhorns, and USC Trojans were presented to Wynn, who ultimately chose the Seminoles.
Wynn won Defensive Player of the Year in his school’s division as a sophomore after tallying 45 tackles (18 for loss), four sacks, and a forced fumble. He followed that up with a junior campaign of 70 tackles (30- yes, 30- for loss), two sacks, a fumble recovery, and a blocked field goal attempt.
As seen in the tape above, Wynn just ragdolls running backs once he gets his arms around them. Kirby Smart and the home-state Bulldogs pushed hard for Wynn, who also officially visited South Carolina and Texas over the summer. FSU had the best shot of any school to pull Wynn out of Georgia and they’ve taken the next step by landing his verbal commitment. He has a nice ceiling and could develop into a multi-year starter at best and at worst a high-quality rotational lineman.
