Springboks: Injury list grows as top star is ruled out- FULL LIST
Another top player has recently been ruled out. Here is the full list of injured Springboks with the Ireland series around the corner.
The Springboks have several key players currently sidelined with the Ireland series around the corner.
Rassie Erasmus will be digging deep into the depths of SA Rugby with several top Springboks out injured. Unfortunately, another top player has been added to the list. Bok veteran and full back, Willie Le Roux.
So, Rassie has his work cut out for him. Injuries, a suspension (Jasper Wiese) and returning players (from Europe, the UK and Bulls) will result wholesale changes squad changes. TEN Springboks set to be dropped. Meanwhile, these NINE Boks are likely to be added to the squad. Additionally, several Bulls are expected to be added to the Springboks squad.

NINE Rugby World Cup winners are currently sidelined as the Springboks walking wounded list grows. Unfortunately, Bulls fullback Le Roux has been added to this list. The Bok veteran was ruled out of the URC final after HIA protocols resulted in him being ruled out of contention. Moreover, Le Roux was substituted off during the Bulls 25-20 URC win over Leinster.
Thankfully, although he is currently sidelined, he is expected to start return in time for the Springboks-Ireland series.
“Jake White says Willie le Roux will be ready to continue his journey towards becoming a Springbok centurion in the two-Test series against Ireland,” the report read on SARugbyMag.
KEY QUARTET RULED OUT OF IRELAND SERIES
Willemse, Kitshoff, De Jager, and Fourie will not play in the series against the Irish. In the end, each of the four Springboks suffered injuries that ended their seasons throughout their individual campaigns.
Moreover, Kitshoff’s medical diagnosis is cause for concern.According to the Springbok star’s medical assessment, he has arthritis in its early stages. De Jager had shoulder surgery in the interim. Consequently, the lanky lock was ruled out for two months. Meanwhile, Folurie’s injury confirmed the worst, putting his Springbok career in peril. Ultimately, Willemse’s finger ligament injury earlier this year forced him to miss the series.

With the international season having kicked off in earnest last weekend, it’s an appropriate time to take a look at the updated list of schools to have produced the most Springboks.
As reported by The South African website, four new names were added to the growing list of players to have donned the famous green and gold jersey.
Springbok No 1 was Benjamin Duff back in 1891. He attended SACS in Cape Town.
PAUL ROOS EXTENDED THEIR ‘LEAD’
Edwill van der Merwe (wing) and Jordan Hendrikse (flyhalf) were the two uncapped players named in the Springboks’ run-on team that faced Wales at Twickenham in London on Saturday, while Ben-Jason Dixon (lock) and Sacha Feinberg-Mngomezulu (utility back) were the new faces on the replacements bench.
All four were called upon to make their debuts.
The Test saw Paul Roos add two more names to their list of all-time Springbok Old Boys.
Both Van der Merwe and Dixon attended the Stellenbosch school, while Hendrikse became Glenwood High School’s ninth Springbok – and the KwaZulu-Natal school’s first since his brother Jaden.
Finally, Feinberg-Mngomezulu added to Bishops’ tally, giving the Cape Town school its 43rd Springbok – and helping close the gap on second-placed Grey College (46).
As reported by The South African website, Paul Roos have produced more Springboks than any other school in South Africa – with 56.
No fewer than 15 schools can count 10 or more Springboks as Old Boys.
