Tanguy Ndombele six words reaction on his contract termination

Tanguy Ndombele’s final actions are gut-wrenching as Tottenham terminate his contract

Tanguy Ndombele is no longer a Tottenham Hotspur player.

It’s amazing what a few years can do in football because it can prove how far your team has risen, or in the case of Tottenham, fallen to the ground and still not been able to recover.

Back in 2019, Tottenham had just come off the back of reaching the Champions League final and losing out to Liverpool in Madrid.

Mauricio Pochettino was still in charge of Spurs and they backed him by securing a then club-record transfer of £63 million for Tanguy Ndombele from Lyon.

Many were excited to see what he was going to bring to the table and were even more overjoyed when he scored a brilliant goal on his debut against Aston Villa.

Fast forward to the present and Ndombele has had his contract at Tottenham ‘mutually terminated’, as posted by the club’s official website.

The player himself reacted on Instagram by stating ‘end of my adventure in the best club in London’, as he backed the team, now led by Ange Postecoglou, to be ‘extremely successful’ in the near future.

It was an amazing response from a player who struggled so much, but what was even more heartbreaking about Ndombele’s final message to Spurs fans was that he took the comments off his post.

You are hoping he doesn’t think he would just get a load of stick if the comments were turned on because he probably feels many think negatively of him.

But the 27-year-old has remained classy and still bigged up his now-former side.

Tanguy Ndombele hails Tottenham Hotspur

“End of my adventure in the best club in London,” wrote Ndombele.

“I learned a lot during my time at Tottenham. Thank you for the unwavering support of the supporters. I wish you all the best for the future and I know you will be extremely successful.”

Tanguy Ndombele’s talents

Many tried. Jose Mourinho pushed, pushed and pushed. Yet, they couldn’t get much out of the player, even though there was so much talent.

On the ball, Ndombele had crazy ball-carrying ability and could glide past players for fun.

But it’s not just about what you do on the ball, but what you also do without it and that’s where the Frenchman’s problems lay.

To put it simply, if he put in the same effort without the ball, then the talent he had with it, then he would be one of the best midfielders in the Premier League.

But now you wonder where Ndombele lands next, especially after his struggles on loan at Galatasaray, Napoli and Lyon in recent seasons.
