Levy surely won’t be happy with FA update, could see Tottenham lose long-term millions
Daniel Levy could miss out on millions in future earnings at Tottenham after an FA update on Tuesday (23 April).

Spurs will head to Australia for a post-season tour, which includes a match against Newcastle United at the Melbourne Cricket Ground on Wednesday, May 22, just days after their season-ending Premier League match against Sheffield United at Bramall Lane (19 May).
Action may be taken because this decision has not been well received by the FA or England manager Gareth Southgate, who is trying to prepare his team for the UEFA European Championships in June.

As per The Times (23 April), “the FA is to look at changing the rules to ban clubs from staging lucrative friendlies beyond the end of the season”.
It is understood that the PFA has also raised concerns about the demands that will be placed on the players by the 21,000-mile round-trip which will need to be made just hours after the conclusion of their 38-game Premier League campaigns.
One action which could be taken is clubs being restricted from playing friendly matches between the end of the season and the beginning of July, a decision which likely wouldn’t go down well with Levy.
While it is understandable why Southgate and the FA would be concerned, Spurs and Newcastle will argue that this trip is important for the club’s finances.
The match between two Premier League teams at a stadium with 100,000 seats is expected to draw a sizable audience, and given the positive effects the trip will have on both clubs’ worldwide brand recognition, it will undoubtedly be very profitable for all parties concerned.
The FA’s alleged intention to forbid these post-season travels completely is what worries Levy and Tottenham the most.
These kinds of travels might be worth millions of dollars over the course of five to ten years, so Levy will be very upset if he can no longer fit them into Tottenham’s schedule.
