Tottenham U21 ace sends Ange message after what he did on Saturday

Will Lankshear has sent Tottenham boss Ange Postecoglou a reminder of his quality.

This season, Lankshear has likely been the most outstanding player for the Spurs young teams at Hotspur Way.

The striker has scored four goals in his previous four Premier League 2 games, demonstrating his recent hot streak in front of goal.

He has 16 goals overall for the season in the tournament, but Postecoglou hasn’t given the 19-year-old a first-team shot despite his amazing record with the Under-21s.

From now until the end of the season, Postecoglou should look more closely at Lankshear and learn from Kobbie Mainoo, who has shown what gifted kids can do when given the opportunity to prove themselves.

Will Lankshear sends Ange Postecoglou a reminder at Tottenham

While Lankshear is young, he proved once again on Saturday (20 April) that he is more than ready to make the step up as Spurs drew 2-2 with Manchester United’s Under-21s at Lamex Stadium.

The talisman demonstrated his natural goalscoring instincts as he flicked on Jamie Donley’s cross at the front post into the path of Jude Soonsup-Bell, before diverting the latter’s low-driven ball home from inside the six-yard box to open the scoring after just 16 minutes.

This is a fixture in which Mainoo might have easily been involved not too long ago, but Erik ten Hag has gambled on the 19-year-old, and it has paid off with the midfielder now a full England international.

Postecoglou needs to remember that Lankshear has earned a similar opportunity to establish himself based on his performances.

Even though Lankshear’s Premier League debut may not be appropriate given his future games against teams like Arsenal, Chelsea, and Liverpool, there may still be an opportunity for him to play before the season finishes.

Postecoglou needs to take advantage of any situation where Spurs have little left to play for in the last few games in order to give Lankshear a chance to prove himself before the new campaign begins.

In other Tottenham news, the team is expected to face competition from Arsenal for the signature of Ollie Watkins.
