AC Milan are planning to part ways with head coach Stefano Pioli once the current season is over, according to the latest update from Fabrizio Romano.
After winning the Scudetto in 2021–22, Milan has again found itself in a situation where they will go through a second consecutive season without a trophy. However, their Europa League defeat against Roma on Thursday night appears to have stoked the desire to turn things around.
Pioli’s prospects of staying had improved due to his seven straight victories beginning in March, the management’s unwavering public support, and the likelihood of a successful run in Europe.
Given how far away Inter is in the league, Pioli’s departure from the Rossoneri appears to have been the last straw following the team’s elimination from the Europa League, which followed two extremely concerning performances.
Romano provided an update on Pioli’s future on his X page, confirming that the ownership has chosen to make a change for the upcoming season.
The plans of AC Milan are still the same and have not altered: Stefano Pioli is anticipated to be fired at the end of the current campaign. Formal procedures to be followed in the upcoming weeks in order to fire the manager,” he stated.
