‘Deal done’ – Tottenham to accept ‘ridiculous offer’ for star Ange Postecoglou doesn’t rate
Tottenham have big plans for the summer transfer window and part of that will be offloading players Ange Postecoglou feels he can live without.
One of those unwanted stars is Giovani Lo Celso, who has started just four Premier League matches this season and is reportedly frustrated by his lack of minutes.
Several clubs, particularly from LaLiga, are keeping close tabs on his situation and the latest side to register an interest in him is Atletico Madrid.
According to a report from Spain, Diego Simeone’s side are preparing a “ridiculous offer” of around €20m (about £17.1 million) for Lo Celso, which is a significant amount given that his contract only lasts until 2025.
Tottenham will have more money to work with during the summer transfer window as a result. According to rumors, Postecoglou has declared that finding a new center back, winger, and offensive midfielder is his top priority.
Conor Gallagher of Chelsea is the manager’s main target, as exclusively disclosed by TEAMtalk. Gallagher may depart Stamford Bridge if he doesn’t extend his contract at the end of the current campaign.
The England international’s wage demands have been regarded by the club to be too exorbitant, hence negotiations between the Blues and him are currently at a halt. We are aware that as a result, Spurs may be able to sign him for £50 million.
Daniel Levy to ‘accept good offer’ for Tottenham outcast
Former Tottenham scout Bryan King has given his thoughts on Lo Celso’s situation and he believes Daniel Levy would gladly accept Atletico’s reported €20m bid.
“He doesn’t seem to be a first choice for Ange Postecoglou, and if they can sell the player for good money that would make sense,” King told Tottenham News.
“Lo Celso has got more chance of getting regular game time with Atletico Madrid than he does in North London.
“I believe Tottenham would accept that offer.”
“Knowing Levy, the deal will be completed if a strong offer is on the table and he can get some money back.”
Real Betis is also very interested in signing Lo Celso, as was previously reported.The 28-year-old is still friendly with the Spanish club, where he played from 2018 to 2020.
For Tottenham, that may be good news because it could lead to a bidding war for Lo Celso in the upcoming months.
It’s not surprising that the Argentine international wants to move in order to have more playing time because he is apparently hoping to rejoin the Argentina squad before the 2026 World Cup.
