Goodnews:Tottenham just sign £17m speedster likened to Mo Salah; he’s got 22 goals this season

Tottenham Hotspur are enjoying a pretty fruitful season, with a Champions League still very much up for grabs.

Spurs struggled last season, but since Ange Postecoglou took the reins in the summer, they’re quickly returned to the upper tiers of the Premier League.

A combination of great tactics, solid man-management and some shrewd acquisitions in the transfer windows have helped turn Tottenham’s fortunes round.

With the summer transfer window on the horizon, we could see Spurs bring in yet more new arrivals as Postecoglou is still reassembling his team.

A player who is now dominating the Belgian top flight and has been compared to Mohamed Salah is the one with whom Tottenham is currently being linked.

Better yet, he could be had for less than £20 million and is already a seasoned international who competed in the Africa Cup of Nations.

Mohamed Amoura, a player with Union Saint-Giloise and the Algeria national team, is the player in question.

The 23-year-old is reportedly being watched by Tottenham, West Ham United, and Wolverhampton Wanderers, according to GiveMeSport.

Who is Tottenham target Mohamed Amoura?

Born in the Algerian city of Tahir in May 2000, Amoura began his footballing journey with ES Setif in his home country.

In 2021, he moved to Swiss outfit Lugano. According to The National News, teammates soon began calling him “little Salah” in training.

This is because of his speed, his confidence on the ball and for the career parallels with Mohamed Salah.

Both are North African prodigies who joined a Swiss club at a young age, as the Egyptian was by Basel, and going on to have great careers.

Amoura then joined Belgium’s Union SG last year, and he has enjoyed an outstanding maiden season.

To date, he has registered 22 goals and six assists from 39 outings in all competitions. He also played for Algeria at the Africa Cup of Nations this year.

Regarding Amoura, TNN cites Belgian pundit Philippe Albert as saying: “He’s an extraordinary player.”

Preserving the spontaneity in his playing is the main challenge. He is much more than just a speed demon. He can finish with great poise and is a two-footed player.

Amoura’s current market value is €10 million, according to Voetbal Belgie, but his team wants double that amount.

He would still be a great deal for Tottenham at £17 million, as he has shown his worth both for his country and in Belgium.

Amoura still has his entire career ahead of him at the age of 23, so there’s little doubt the Spurs manager can push him to the next level.
