Everton and Nottingham Forest are battling for Premier League survival on and off the pitch as the Toffees are hit with a second Profitability & Sustainability Rules points deduction.
Andros Townsend claims the current situation regarding Everton and Nottingham Forest’s points deduction appeals is making ‘a mockery’ of the end to the season.
The Luton Town winger is currently embroiled in a battle for survival in the Premier League relegation zone, with the Hatters’ victory over Bournemouth at the weekend lifting them level on points with Forest and closer to the Toffees.
That margin closed even further on Monday when Everton were docked a further two points for breaching Profitability & Sustainability Rules – their second penalty of the season and one which now leaves them on 27 points, compared to Luton and the Reds’ 25.
