Cam Heyward Reacts To Steelers QB Speculation
The Pittsburgh Steelers will head into the NFL offseason with the top priority being to fix the offensive side of the football, as the team seemed hopeless offensively during the 2023 campaign and had to go as far as firing offensive coordinator Matt Canada during the regular season in order to address the problem.
Even after parting ways with Canada, who seemed to be more of a fall guy than anything at this point, the team still couldn’t get it done offensively, which led to a lot of questions about what the team should do and what quarterback should be leading the way under center.
The Steelers declared before of the 2023 season that Kenny Pickett would be the starting quarterback going forward. Pittsburgh has a lot of faith in the young player and expects he can succeed Ben Roethlisberger as the starting quarterback.
Star defensive tackle Cam Heyward has a message for everyone weighing in on the quarterback position, which is a hot topic for the Steelers heading into the offseason. He calls out all the “couch GMs” and notes that if fans had their say, the team would have 15 different quarterbacks.
Heyward has obviously had enough of the nonsense and the hordes of superfans on social media who act like they know everything, but this is just the beginning. Until the team moves to acquire a veteran or declares that Pickett will lose his position, this will go on throughout the winter.
Superstar Russell Wilson has previously been connected to Pittsburgh, and the team may try out veteran Kirk Cousins as well, as both are available during the offseason and would be an immediate boost.
