‘His biggest hurdle’: Postecoglou says £25m Tottenham player knows what is stopping him from exploding

Tottenham Hotspur head coach Ange Postecoglou has given his verdict on Ryan Sessegnon.

Postecoglou has noted how Sessegnon is doing in training and has pointed out what is stopping the defender from fulfilling his potential.

So, what has Tottenham Hotspur head coach Ange Postecoglou said about Ryan Sessegnon? Let’s take a look.

Ange Postecoglou comments on Tottenham Hotspur’s Ryan Sessegnon

Well, Tottenham Hotspur head coach Ange Postecoglou has been speaking about Ryan Sessegnon.

Postecoglou has been pleased with Sessegnon’s progress in training. Sessegnon was said to be heading to Everton in the summer of 2023.

What is preventing the £25 million (BBC Sport) player from blowing up has also been highlighted by the former manager of Celtic.

The main concern for the 23-year-old Sessegnon, who can play left back or left flank, is injuries, according to Postecoglou.

Regarding Sessegnon, Postecoglou told Football.London, “He’s back training, that’s the first thing.” He must now compile a body of work while in training, after which we will evaluate it.

“This is his first week with us. Like I said, with Sess it’s about getting a body of work together – to give him confidence and us confidence that his body will be good.

“I hope that keeps up, because he’s trained well so far this week and has completed all tasks assigned to him.”

“He’s no different from anyone else,” the Spurs manager continued. “I want them all to be out there, available.” He is not any different. He’s obviously been through a difficult period. However, it would be pointless for me to exert further pressure on him.

He is aware that spending a lot of time outdoors will be his toughest challenge. We had a couple injuries when we first put him out there, so it was a false start.

As I mentioned before, Sess needs to put together a body of work. He’ll then feel more at ease and assured about seizing the chance.

My View: Tottenham fans should have faith in Ryan Sessegnon

Fans of Tottenham Hotspur shouldn’t give up on Ryan Sessegnon just yet, in my opinion.

Spurs should, in my opinion, stick with the defender and hope that his injury issues go away.

Even now, Sessegnon is only 23. If a player does not have a run of games, it is difficult for him to have a significant influence.

And that has been the major issue facing the former Fulham player. He simply can’t maintain his level of fitness for very long.

Throughout his career, Sessegnon has made 73 appearances in the Premier League. In those games, the youthful player has eight assists and four goals.
