‘He’s angry’…Ally McCoist says Pedro Porro was fuming with £45m Tottenham player v Everton

Tottenham and Everton’s clash at Goodison Park today ended up being one of the most entertaining games of the season so far.

In a game full of drama, Eveton snatched a late goal to ensure a share of the spoils and nab what could prove to be a crucial point for Sean Dyche’s side.

However, for Tottenham, it felt like another opportunity missed after being the better side for large chunks of the game and twice going into the lead through Richarlison.

Indeed, there were moments of frustration for Tottenham and Ally McCoist spotted Pedro Porro being absolutely furious with Brennan Johnson at one point.

Porro berated the winger after Johnson failed to read a pass from right-back, and McCoist, on co-comms for TNT Sports, noticed the altercation.

“See he’s angry there Porro with Brennan Johnson and i take his point. He fired it in front of Johnson, it was a good ball so he could take it in a forward motion and then he turned and came to feet,” McCoist said.

Brennan Johnson needs to do more for Tottenham

At the moment, despite spending around £45m on Johnson from Nottingham Forest, the forward doesn’t look like he’s quite at the level of a top four player.

As with Porro’s frustration today, there are times when Johnson doesn’t seem quite as switched on as he should go in crucial times of the game.

Over time, Johnson will probably be a good player for Spurs and his pace always means he is an asset.

However, at a club pushing for the Champions League places, the small things matter and that’s likely what Porro was telling him here.

In the end, it was a decent enough point for Tottenham but at the same time, a game they’ll feel three points could have been theirs.
