Breaking:Tottenham receive official loan offer from Spanish side for 20-year-old

Tottenham Hotspur are mulling over a loan offer from Sevilla for Alejo Veliz, and will make a decision today on a proposal that would see the youngster join the La Liga side until the end of the season, with no purchase clause involved.

Alejo Veliz joined Tottenham last summer from Argentinian side Rosario Central, but has had to make do with bit-

occasional cameos for Ange Postecoglou’s team over the season thus far.

The young player has only played 41 minutes in eight Premier League substitute appearances because to the excellent play of Rickardson and Heung-min Son, although he did score his first goal in the 4-2 loss to Brighton back in December (Transfermarkt).

Sadly, Veliz’s season was ended when he sustained a knee injury during the season-opening victory over Bournemouth. The youthful striker valiantly attempted to play on but had to leave the field in tears. Due to the problem, he is anticipated to be absent until March.

Sevilla want Alejo Veliz

That has not stopped Sevilla from showing their interest, however, and according to David Ornstein at The Athletic, the Spanish outfit have now asked Spurs if they can take Veliz on loan.

It is thought Tottenham will “make a decision” on the matter today, with the outcome expected before tonight’s transfer deadline at 11p

According to the source, Sevilla’s proposal merely entails a temporary swap until the conclusion of the season and “does not include an option to buy.”

Really, I don’t see why this is being done. Alejo might as well remain at Spurs for his recuperation and be a part of the first team if he is out until March. After all, he was only beginning to demonstrate his abilities in the Premier League.
