The Hoops boss believes his summer additions can still come good

Brendan Rodgers maintains that players need time to adjust and has refused to write off any of his summer acquisitions.

Despite spending over £20 million over the off-season, Celtic has not yet seen a return on their investment.Paulo Bernardo has only lately forced his way into the fold, while Luis Palma is the only newcomer who has proven himself as a regular. However, due to their lack of success, players including Odin Thiago Holm, Marco Tilio, Yang, Kwon, and Gustav Lagerbielke have been forced to make way for Rodgers in January.

The head coach of the Houston Rockets has expressed his desire for “quality” this month, using the word to characterize the £2.8 million signing of Nicolas Kuhn, a winger for Rapid Vienna. Although Rodgers is still hopeful about his summer acquisitions—he mentioned the rise of Liam Scales this season—he still wants a new left-back and striker on his wish list.

“I think the consistency is the main one,” Aaron Rodgers said to Celtic TV when asked what areas the Premiership leaders can improve in the second half of the season. Working with the players has been an absolute pleasure, nice guys. In addition to the obvious loss of many younger players who had just joined and would need some time to adjust, we also lost a few key players.

“Some of those have begun to emerge, the likes of Liam Scales. He’s not a young player, of course, but he came into the team and has done great. Paulo Bernardo, this last period, has settled in very well. But that’s how long it

can occasionally accommodate a young player from a different nation with a distinct culture and set of expectations.

“Seeing others like them succeed has been wonderful. For me, it’s just a matter of consistency and mindset, which should translate into that kind of work. We’ve seen that we’ve been lot more of who we are over the past four games.

“We’ve had other excellent outings; against Aberdeen, we were quite clinical playing at home against Atletico Madrid. We can aim to have a really exciting second half of the season if we can continue to develop the players’ and team’s mindset in the second half of the campaign.”
