‘Clear objectives’ – Ange Postecoglou reveals Spurs plans for rest of transfer window

Ange Postecoglou has added two new faces to his Tottenham Hotspur squad already this month, but in his latest press conference, the Spurs boss revealed he may not be done just yet.

Although Tottenham supporters are not used to the team moving through the transfer season so rapidly, the Lilywhites have already made improvements in two important areas of the squad less than two weeks into the window.

Spurs needed a new center defender above all, and Radu Dragusin has now formally moved to North London. The 21-year-old will provide Micky van de Ven and Cristian Romero competition as well as cover.

Timo Werner signed a six-month loan agreement to become the new wide attacker that Ange Postecoglou had been searching for. This month, Heung-min Son will be abroad on international duty; the German will fill in and may end up starting every game.

Postecoglou hints Spurs could make another signing

So, with time left to play with this month, is Postecoglou content with the work the club has done, or does he want more signings? Speaking to the press (via Football.London), Postecoglou hinted there could be further activity in the market.

He remarked, “We’ll see. We had a few very specific goals that we have currently completed. I believe I mentioned that every window presents a chance for improvement.

“We’ll seize any chance to improve, but we’re really happy with the progress we’ve made thus far. We have two players who I believe will be crucial to our success in the second half of the season and beyond.”

Spurs have already had a successful transfer window, but there is still time to improve. We will truly make a statement of purpose if we can let go of Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg and sign a central midfielder who is more compatible with Postecoglou’s philosophy.
