‘He wants to leave’: After Hugo Lloris, Fabrizio Romano says £26m Tottenham star wants to leave now
Fabrizio Romano has claimed that Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg wants to leave Tottenham Hotspur in the January transfer window.
Spurs are expected to be active in the winter window, with so many of their key players injured. All eyes will be on incomings, but there are a few who could leave Tottenham too. Hugo Lloris is on the verge of an exit and Hojbjerg could follow him out of the door now.

Over the years, the Dane has shown to be a reliable performer for Spurs. Although he has made many mistakes, he had some incredible performances in North London early in his career.
Hojbjerg is no longer Tottenham’s first choice, though.He is not well-liked by Ange Postecoglou, and even the younger Pape Matar Sarr is superior to him in the hierarchy.
Because of this, Hojbjerg has been connected to moves away from Tottenham in recent months. According to Romano, the midfield player wishes to depart the team in January.
“Look, we have to keep an eye on Italian clubs because Italian clubs are keeping a close eye on Hojbjerg,” he stated on Kick. Despite all the connections, I’ve heard that Juventus still prioritizes other players above Pierre Hojbjerg for that role.
In September, Hojbjerg switched agencies since he was looking to move on and join a another team. However, Tottenham requires it to be either a long-term loan with a purchase obligation or a permanent move. Either the transfer is assured, or nothing happens.
“Juventus likes the player, for sure, but from what I understand, at least right now, it’s not a top concern. “Pierre Hojbjerg is appreciated by Napoli.”
Tottenham need a replacement
If the price is right, Tottenham won’t mind selling Hojbjerg; however, Ange Postecoglou will need to find a successor before allowing the Dane to depart.
Rodrigo Bentancur won’t be back until February, and Yves Bissouma hasn’t shown much discipline. It’s challenging to depend on Oliver Skipp in the long run because there are still concerns about his caliber at the highest level.
Rated at £26 millionAlthough Hojbjerg hasn’t played well for Tottenham lately, he does have experience, something some of the other midfield players at Tottenham don’t.
Thus, Tottenham will need to find a replacement if they allow him to depart next month. They will be extremely light in the center of the park if they don’t.
