“Not good enough” – Pundit brutally singles out Tottenham star
TalkSPORT pundit Gabby Agbonlahor has advocated for Tottenham to pursue a new striker to replace Richarlison’s role upfront amid the Brazilian’s underwhelming performances since his high-profile arrival last summer on a record-breaking fee.
Richarlison has struggled to regain his previous form despite early hopes of flourishing under Ange Postecoglou, hindered by an unknown health condition that required pelvic surgery.
The Brazilian has shown signs of life since his comeback, scoring four goals in three games—two against Newcastle and one each against Nottingham Forest and Everton.
Agbonlahor, who believes Spurs should look for a different attacking option in the forthcoming January transfer window, is unconvinced despite the recent comeback.
He said on talkSPORT how he felt, saying:
“Richarlison isn’t good enough and he’s not what the Spurs need, so he might as well come sit next to me in my five-a-side on a Monday night.”
TBH states:
Given his prior performance, the criticism is justified, but Richarlison now appears to be the closest version of himself.
But before Spurs decide to sign him, he needs to play well every game till the summer.
