‘Lifts the players around him’: Max Aarons says Spurs have a truly ‘unbelievable’ talent in their ranks
Tottenham Hotspur midfielder James Maddison has been described by Bournemouth’s Max Aarons as an “unbelievable” player who” lifts the players around him”.
Norwich had both the Spurs playmaker and the Cherries full-back on their roster from 2016 to 2018.Speaking on the FilthyFellas YouTube channel, Aarons reminisced about his time spent playing with Maddison.
Regarding the Tottenham player, Aarons remarked, “He is incredible.” It’s his confidence on the field, as you have all witnessed.
“I think that confidence lifts the players around him, because he is always wanting the ball even when you are under pressure.
“He is technically unbelievable, but I love his mindset too.”
While Aarons played for the Canaries until this summer, when he joined Bournemouth, Maddison moved on to join Leicester in 2018 before transferring to Tottenham this summer.
In the game, both players have experienced rising trajectories. After joining from Leicester, Maddison made an immediate impact at Spurs, and his injury-forced absence is being felt at N17.
Similarly, Aarons became a legend at Norwich and rapidly made a name for himself in the first squad of his new club; however, he too is currently out with a hamstring injury.
James Maddison the missing piece for Tottenham Hotspur
It appears like Maddison has been Tottenham’s missing component. At last, they have a player in their ranks who is comparable to Christian Eriksen once more.
Because of his exceptional play, he and Son Heung-min have successfully ensured that Harry Kane has not been missed since joining Bayern Munich.
That Maddison is still healing from an ankle injury is really unfortunate. Let’s hope he can quickly regain his health and start leading Spurs back into the top division of the game.
