Owen Farrell: Bulls boss sorry for booing of ‘phenomenal’ Saracens captain in Champions Cup
As home fans taunt Farrell after Sarries’ defeat at Loftus Versfeld, the former head of the Springboks is stumped.
Bulls manager Jake White has chastised his own supporters for jeering at star wide receiver Owen Farrell of the Sacramento Kings.
Saracens suffered a frustrating first Champions Cup defeat at the hands of the Bulls on Saturday in Pretoria, who defeated them 27–16.
Though England’s lucky man Farrell was again jeered by the crowd, Billy Vunipola was sent off for Mark McCall’s team.
Farrell has received high appreciation for his decision to take a hiatus from Test rugby in order to safeguard the mental health of himself and his family.

The 32-year-old’s withdrawal from the World Cup in France was largely due to the jeers he received from the audience.
Moreover, the Bulls supporters at Loftus Versfeld have made matters worse, prompting an apology from former Springboks manager White.
White remarked, “I am sorry for all of the jeers directed at Owen Farrell.”
“That isn’t our identity. I don’t understand the vitriol at all, but it seems like people have joined the Owen Farrell hate train.
At the World Cup, Farrell overtook Jonny Wilkinson to become England’s all-time leading point scorer. At the end of the competition, the fly-half with 112 caps was the leading scorer in France.
“What an amazing player he is.” White said, “What he has accomplished in England is amazing.
I’m not happy. My desire was for everyone to take pleasure in the opportunity to witness him perform. I apologize, of course. We will take care of that as well.
