£22,500,000 A Tottenham player may have wasted his final opportunity under Ange Postecoglou.

Ange Postecoglou managed some subpar performances even if Tottenham Hotspur eventually had a successful evening in Manchester.

Both the Spurs’ injury crisis and the challenges faced by their roster players in trying to fill in for those lost are widely known.

And it now appears that Bryan Gil has wasted another fantastic opportunity to start last night.

Gil got off to a really strong start to the game, swiveling on the edge of his box to set up the assault that resulted in Son Heung-min’s opening goal. Gary Neville was quite delighted with Gil’s play.

But as the first half continued, it was evident that the Spaniard was being passed over by the game, a player

Gil “looked like a boy playing in a man’s game,” according to Jamie Carragher, who was unimpressed.

And although some might find that harsh, there were a few reasons why Gil’s prospects of succeeding under Postecoglou might have ended with a halftime substitute.

First of all, yesterday night’s benching of Richardson was a major plus for this overworked team.

The Brazilian will start as soon as he is prepared.

Bryan Gil was given another fantastic Tottenham opportunity against Manchester City by Ange Postecoglu.

The player most suited to replace James Maddison at number ten, Dejan Kulusevski, does appear to be sticking there based on his recent performances.

And while that would put £22 million Gil as the first choice on the bench, January signings might make things different.

Jota, a player who would have been helpful against Manchester City, and Ange Postecoglou have been associated for a while now.

Furthermore, Gil would be left out in the cold if the Spurs approved a £25 million move in January.

Gil, a 22-year-old who has achieved success in La Liga, does, nevertheless, possess talent.

For that reason, it could be best for everyone if Gil went on to look for fresh pastures.

Naturally, all of this is purely hypothetical, but it is also not impossible.

Tottenham desperately need additions in January, ones that can have an influence on the starting XI.
