Exclusive: “An option for sure” – Fabrizio Romano on West Ham transfer targets & David Moyes’ future

Transfer news expert Fabrizio Romano has provided an update on the situation at West Ham United ahead of January, and amid some speculation over the future of David Moyes as manager.

Although Declan Rice’s summertime departure won’t have helped, West Ham still has a talented team that can perform better, so Moyes might soon come under pressure.

According to Romano, the Scottish tactician is safe for the time being, but the east Londoners may be getting ready to add more offensive linemen in January in an attempt to turn things around in the second half of the campaign.

“David Moyes’s managerial future has been a subject of speculation due to West Ham’s somewhat uneven start to the season,” Romano said.

But to be honest, I’m not aware of any updates on Moyes’ circumstances. It remains unchanged. He should be given more time, in my opinion, and maybe some additions in January to bolster this team—especially another striker, as that position appears to be crucial for West Ham.

“A new striker is definitely an option for West Ham this January, but I’m not yet able to give details on specific targets.” Since these negotiations are anticipated to take place in the next weeks and throughout December, it’s too early to tell who exactly they will target or whether other positions could also be strengthened.
