Tottenham Hotspur target Tosin Adarabioyo could now negotiate a new contract with Fulham rather than explore a transfer in 2024, according to a report.

Adarabioyo is into the final year of his contract with Fulham, who faced interest in his services from Tottenham

and during the summer, Monaco. As things stand, they run the risk of witnessing him agree to a pre-contract in January with a foreign team.

Alternatively, Tottenham is expected to rekindle their interest in him by putting in a bid, giving Fulham one more opportunity to profit. Maybe it wouldn’t be, though.

In fact, it has been reported by the Evening Standard that Fulham is willing to have fresh negotiations with Adarabioyo regarding a contract extension. The headline also suggests the player is prepared to follow manager Marco Silva in committing his future to Craven Cottage, even though the report doesn’t go into great detail about it.

Adarabioyo has experience playing in the Champions League for Man City, so there may be a better chance for him to return there with Tottenham than Fulham, even though Silva’s team has performed well since returning to the top flight.

Additionally, it seems that some of the manager’s key players may feel more confident that they are making progress after he signed a contract extension.

Adarabioyo in particular is thought to have made a U-turn in his position, as he had previously appeared more inclined to relocate in the upcoming year.

In this instance, it appears Fulham still has a chance to emerge victorious over Tottenham, who signed Manor Solomon this summer following his time with the Cottagers.

What next for Tottenham if they miss out on Adarabioyo?

Tottenham may still need to find a new defender because Ange Postecoglou has not been able to rely on Eric Dier, who is anticipated to leave the team in 2024.

Cristian Romero and Micky van de Ven have been Postecoglou’s favorite center-back duo. But Tottenham may require additional depth, particularly if they play in Europe again the following season.

Spurs will just have to look elsewhere or accept the possibility of having to pay a higher fee than anticipated if Fulham succeeds in tying Adarabioyo down.
