Former record breaking Arsenal player watches Tottenham Hotspur last night in the home end

Former Arsenal sensation was actually spotted watching Tottenham Hotspur return to the top of the league last night.

Arshavin was enthusiastic for the match against Fulham and recorded his trip to the Tottenham Hotspur stadium on his Instagram account.

Given Arshavin’s close relationship with Arsenal, that will undoubtedly raise some eyebrows in the red part of North London.

Following an outstanding World Cup performance by the winger, Arshavin was acquired by Arsene Wenger in 2009 for a club record sum of £15 million.

Fans of Arsenal won’t like seeing Arshavin flirt with Tottenham given how well-liked he became there.

Those supporters must undoubtedly concede that Spurs games have rarely been more thrilling.

Ange Postecoglou’s team rose to the top of the Premier League after defeating Fulham 2-0.

And while Tottenham is primarily focused on their journey to South London on Friday, Arsenal is traveling to Spain to play Sevilla.

Moreover, given how strong both sides look this season, the contrast in schedule could end up making a big difference.

Arshavin nearly joined Tottenham before he signed for Arsenal

Arshavin might have visited Spurs with some regrets about what might have been, of course.

Arshavin acknowledged that Juande Ramos, the manager at the time, had persuaded him to join Tottenham before Arsenal.

Spurs, however, declined to match Zenit St. Petersburg’s valuation of £20 million.

And in the end, Arshavin did join Wenger and Arsenal, where he did have some standout moments.

The four goals he scored at Anfield against Liverpool stand out among his accomplishments.

And there was of course that famous Champions League winner against FC Barcelona.

There’s not too many players who are coveted by both Arsenal and Tottenham at the same moment, and only Arshavin knows if he had wanted things to go differently.

Nonetheless, it does seem that the former Premier League forward will keep keeping a close eye on the North London clubs this season.

Unai Emery is another former Arsenal player who has been actively following the team.

The former manager has recently acknowledged that the way his stint with the team ended still astounds him.
