James Maddison was heard praising the facilities at Hotspur Way when he and his England teammates arrived at the training ground earlier this week.

Given the top-notch facilities available, the England squad frequently uses Hotspur Way to prepare for games even though St George’s Park is normally where they are located.

The likes of Harry Kane and James Maddison are, of course, no strangers to the Enfield training facility, and the offensive midfielder was beaming with pleasure when he and his teammates arrived there.

In the most recent Inside Access video posted on England’s YouTube account, Maddison, who started for the Three Lions in their victory against Australia, could be heard admiring the facilities.

The Tottenham Hotspur star was heard on camera stating, “Some gaff this is, isn’t it, Tottenham Hotspur complex.”

With the midfielder wearing his heart on his sleeve since the day he stepped through the door in the summer, it is amazing to see how fast Maddison has found a sense of home at Spurs.

Despite having a successful debut season in the Premier League, Tottenham defender Micky van de Ven believes he still has “something to prove.”

According to journalist Valentijn Driessen, those who are praising the defender shouldn’t be able to get away with it just yet.

Since joining Tottenham on a lucrative transfer from Wolfsburg in the summer, Van de Ven has been a standout, immediately becoming a key member of Ange Postecoglou’s defense.

Since the beginning of the season, he has received a lot of praise, with many people being astonished by his defensive prowess as well as his ease in possession and as an attacking instrument.

That’s seen him make his way into the Netherlands set up, where he is a part of Ronald Koeman’s plans for this international break and indeed moving forwards.

He’s yet to establish himself with his nation as he has at Tottenham, with his latest a 15 minute appearance in the win over Greece.

He entered the game as a left back toward the finish, but he did not perform well. A costly error almost allowed Greece to score first.

He has already received criticism for this in the Netherlands today, and Driessen has added to it by asserting that his lack of experience was evident in his most recent performance.

The Netherlands still had issues in the decisive round against Greece, he claimed.

“Van de Ven drops a ball, setting off a potentially devastating onslaught. These are the times when playing is really necessary.Then you realize that the player hasn’t participated in many games at this level yet.

“He came in very well against France. You can have him there. He is strong and fast. He still has something to prove. Now we are completely impressed by ten minutes against a France that plays at eighty percent.

“He did make a good tackle, I have to admit that, but we don’t have to go all out when someone makes a good tackle or gives a good pass

.”
