Micky van de Ven sees no reason to fear high-flying Liverpool when they travel to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Sunday

Prior to their Premier League matchup on Sunday, Tottenham Hotspur player Micky van de Ven insisted that his team is unafraid of Liverpool.

Both teams have had successful starts to the season, with Spurs now holding the final spot among the top four teams and the Reds trailing Manchester City in second.

Liverpool’s performance levels and results have significantly improved as a result of overcoming their midfield weaknesses, and Ange Postecoglou, the new manager of Tottenham, has experienced a similar improvement since reintroducing offensive football at his new team.

If rumored interest from the Anfield management had materialized into a formal offer, the Dutchman might have been in the opposing dugout. The fact that the two men shared a former club, Wolfsburg, which Jorg Schmadtke helped run as sporting director, led to rumors of a prospective transfer for the 22-year-old.

Instead, Liverpool concentrated on adding to their midfield, which gave Tottenham the opportunity to pounce and secure a £43 million agreement.
