What Chelsea star Enzo Fernandez did to Tottenham rival that Ange Postecoglou will love

Chelsea stars Enzo Fernandez and Moises Caicedo were in action against each other as Argentina faced Ecuador last night – with Lionel Messi scoring a late winner in the World Cup qualification clash

Enzo Fernandez, a star for Chelsea, has nothing but love for Cristian Romero, a teammate from Argentina who plays for Tottenham. The defending world champions defeated Ecuador 1-0 to start their World Cup qualifying campaign.

A spectacular Lionel Messi free kick gave Argentina the victory as Enzo lined up against his new Chelsea teammate, Moises Caicedo. Romero of Tottenham was a key player for the world champions as he made tackle after tackle to preserve a crucial clean sheet.

Enzo claimed on Instagram that the Spurs star was the best center back in the world of soccer, a claim that might not sit well with some Chelsea supporters but would be adored by Ange Postecoglou and the Tottenham faithful. The Tottenham player has had a fantastic start to the season, and Fernandez seemed awestruck by what he accomplished while serving his country.

Romero’s Instagram image received the following comment from a Chelsea player: “The best central [defender] in the world.” The Spurs player wrote on Twitter: “Today, it was crucial to get off to the correct start. Fantastic match, @afaseleccion. Here’s the process. Gratitude to all for the support.

Given that Romero frequently teams up with Thiago Silva, some Chelsea supporters would take issue with Enzo’s assertion regarding Romero. Despite approaching 40 years old, the seasoned defender for the Blues is still making an impression, and youthful youngster Levi Colwill has had a solid start to the year.
