“I have made this very clear” – Tottenham player speaks out after losing starting Spurs spot under Postecoglou

As Pierre-Emile Højbjerg today held a press conference with at Denmark’s national team campaign, he was asked to talk a little about his time at Tottenham Hotspur.

He has played just 156 minutes for Spurs this season and has obviously lost his starting spot under Ange Postecoglou. He has yet to start any Premier League games under the new coach.

as stated by Bold Hjbjerg had no trouble discussing the circumstance and asserted that he will continue to respect the Tottenham manager.

“I follow the coach’s and the team’s lead, and thankfully there has been a good tone throughout, so there haven’t been any issues from some of the sides,” Hjbjerg added.

“Fortunately, there is a great understanding that the team’s and the club’s upcoming tasks are the only things that matter.”

The player also highlighted the good communication there is between him and the coaching staff, and claims he’ll continue to work to recover his place in the team.

“Throughout, there was good communication, and both parties were treated with respect. In the end, what matters most is that I play my best game and earn the playing time I receive. I have made this very plain to the coach and the club.

I’m not currently in the starting XI. What is, is what is. If the coach points at me, I strive to exhibit my best side.

Hjbjerg is expected to start for Denmark in their forthcoming games against San Marino and Finland, both of which are crucial tests for their qualifying to the Euro.

It will then be time to get ready for the game against Sheffield United on September 16 once he gets back to Tottenham.

Spurs have enjoyed a strong start in the league, and it presents a new opportunity to maybe take the top spot.
