Good News: Nottingham Forest Update as Striker Transfer Deal Emerges
Nottingham Forest could have their work cut out if they try to lure Brentford’s Yoane Wissa to the City Ground this month.
The Reds are said to have their eye on the 28-year-old amid uncertainty over Taiwo Awoniyi’s future. The Telegraph have reported Forest would explore a move for Wissa, if Awoniyi departs amid interest from West Ham United.
However, according to talkSPORT, the Bees have “no intention” of letting go of Wissa before the February 3 deadline. Their stance comes as Arsenal are also said to be keen on the front man.
Up front is the key area in need of attention as Forest look to maintain their challenge at the top end of the Premier League table. Chris Wood has 13 goals to his name but the New Zealand international could do with some additional support as Awoniyi is yet to fire on all cylinders.
Awoniyi opened his account for the campaign in the 3-0 victory over Wolverhampton Wanderers but is still struggling for minutes in the league. The Hammers are said to have opened talks with the Reds over a January deal for the Nigeria international.
