Kaizer Chiefs R17-million man is the latest Amakhosi player heading out of Naturena under new coach Nasreddine Nabi. Here is the latest.
Kaizer Chiefs will be releasing a plethora of talent in coming days and weeks.
Nasreddine Nabi is yet to confirm his Kaizer Chiefs player releases.
Meaning, since the new Amakhosi’s head coaches arrival, nobody has been released. However, this is about to change with several Chiefs players linked with exits. Meanwhile, the latest of these is a surprise potential departure of their R17-million recently signed star.
CHIEFS SET TO RELEASE FOREIGN PLAYER/S
The PSL’s foreign quota permits a total of five non-South African players per squad.
So, Chiefs will have to release one of their international players to make way for new signings. In fact, Fiacre Ntwari, Edmilson Dove, Thatayaone Ditlhokwe, Edson Castillo, Gaston Sirino and Christian Saille are all foreign-based players currently in the Amakhosi squad. Moreover, Inacio Miguel is reportedly set to join Chiefs. The latest player linked with an exit is, Ditlhokwe.
“Now, heading into his second season with the Soweto giants, it’s believed that he is one of the players who could be sacrificed to make a foreign spot available,” the insider stated on SoccerLaduma.
The Chiefs defender is currently values at roughly R17 million (R16.8 million), according to Transfermarkt.
Therefore, Nabi must decide on two of these players being released to meet the limit. Whereas, if he aims to sign international players then more of these men will have to go.
SEVERAL EXITS EXPECTED UNDER NABI
Interestingly, Nabi has asked for TWO more strikers to join Chiefs.
Both of these men are internationals. So, if Nabi and Amakhosi are to sign both players than as many as FOUR more foreign players will be released.
Furthermore, FOUR Chiefs players are linked with loan moves to PSL rivals. Whilst, Nabi has decided to release SIX players following his first team assessment of Chiefs.

Former Kaizer Chiefs captain Keagan Dolly has spoken about the pressure he had to deal with during his stay at Naturena.
Former Kaizer Chiefs captain Keagan Dollyhas spoken for the first team since leaving the club.
The 31-year-old winger spent three seasons with Amakhosi playing a total of 68 matches across all competitions. He scored 13 goals and provided a further 10 assists during his stay with the Soweto giants.
Speaking to Soccer Laduma, Dolly admitted that his time at Chiefs was disrupted by injuries.
“In General, my first season when I came to Kaizer Chiefs, I was probably the club’s top goalscorer. People said ‘I was fat and out of shape’. I think that season went pretty well, for me personally. I enjoyed football again coming from France as well as a place where I didn’t play much with injuries. I thought it was the start of something new,” he said.
DOLLY BLAMES INJURIES FOR LACK OF SUCCESS AT KAIZER CHIEFS
“Unfortunately, I couldn’t help the club in terms of the investment they put in me. At the end of the day, I couldn’t control the injuries I got, it was on the field,” he said.
End of June, Chiefs released several experienced players and Dolly was one of them. The former Bafana Bafana star said he understood why the club decided to let him go.
“I sat down with the management, and they explained to me their vision. They did nothing wrong to me, they went their way and I understood. We shook hands, I just wish they do well this season.” he said.
During his three-year stay, Dolly was the highest-paid player at Kaizer Chiefs, something he admits played with his mind.
“Things didn’t work out from my side, and the club’s side, certain decisions that they made obviously which we won’t go deep into. I think every club goes through a patch where they are not doing well and sometimes certain individuals need to take the blame.
“I was the captain, the highest-paid player so I had to take it,” said Dolly during his Kaizer Chiefs stay.
