Tottenham man now ‘considering’ return to home country – Career on downhill trajectory, nothing going right for him

At this point, it’s really hard to make out where Tanguy Ndombélé stands at Galatasaray, with his performances far from stellar, as he yo-yos his way in and out of the Süper Lig side’s starting XI.

Much has been made about the midfielder’s apparent fitness levels, but one thing appears to be becoming clearer and clearer, which is unless there is a massive change, he will be heading back to Spurs at the end of the season.

What happens from there remains to be seen, but he will likely not convince Ange Postecoglou that he deserves a spot in his Tottenham squad, and Foot Mercato revealed a bit about the 27-year-old’s intentions in an article on Monday.

They first look at his loan at Galatasaray, which certainly isn’t the triumphant success everyone was hoping for, following the same pattern as previous temporary spells at Lyon and Napoli.

Subsequently, according to the French publication, Ndombélé is ‘considering a return to France’, where he experienced the pinnacle of his football career, ostensibly to halt the downward trajectory of his career since moving to England.

He would probably have to give up a sizable portion of his Tottenham salary in order for that to occur, so he would have to decide between his ambition to play football and his financial situation.

Since Ndombélé’s contract with Spurs expires in 2025, this summer would be the best moment to sell him and allow the Premier League team to recover at least some of the €62 million they spent on him back in 2019.
