‘He’s got everything’…Jermaine Jenas says £17m Tottenham player is just the complete package
Jermaine Jenas has been picking his best Tottenham team from players he played with and the current squad and has spoken highly of new goalkeeper, Guglielmo Vicario.
Since signing, the Italian goalie has been nothing short of extraordinary.Vicario, who replaced Hugo Lloris in the summer and cost £17 million, has performed better than many had anticipated.
Clive Allen acknowledged that the new stopper’s skill level had shocked him, while James Maddison gave Vicario high praise although acknowledging that he had never heard of the player before.
The 27-year-old appears to have spent years in the Premier League, and former Spurs midfielder Jenas has recently praised him.
Jermaine Jenas says Vicario has everything
Jenas was tasked by the Daily Mail with picking his best players from those he played with and those who feature in the first-team right now.
The ex-Spurs midfielder was a bit stumped over a few calls and struggled to decide.
However, when it came to a choice between Vicario and former England goalkeeper Paul Robinson, Jenas was in doubt as to who he was going with.
“Vicario. I look at Vicario and I just think he’s the all-round package. He’s got everything,” Jenas said.
Given the history of the former England player, Jenas’ placing of Vicario above Robinson for Spurs is really commendable. Vicario has undoubtedly looked the part.
Tottenham has had years of difficulty finding a replacement for Lloris. However, it seems like they completed it recently and at a great cost.
The best teams that take home trophies all have strong goalkeepers. Consider Alisson and Edwards, for instance. Additionally, it appears that Tottenham has a capable goalkeeper of their own.
There’s a compelling case to be made that Vicario has been the finest summer addition for Spurs of all.
