New report claims four Tottenham players are set to be on the chopping block in January
According to The Times, Bryan Gil is among the players Tottenham are focusing on shifting in January.
According to the article, among the players that Tottenham would allegedly try to offload during the forthcoming January transfer window are Eric Dier, Bryan Gil, Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg, and Hugo Lloris.
Spurs “may be needed after the injuries to Manor Solomon and Ivan Perisic,” the article continues.
Since Gil has been injured since the Australian’s arrival, he has not yet had a chance to impress Ange Postecoglou.
Alasdair Gold, though, has said that his adaptability, talent, and playing style would ‘fit beautifully’ into the way Ange wants his team to play.
Since moving from Sevilla to Tottenham Hotspur in 2021, Bryan Gil’s experience there has been uneven.
The gifted attacker came to the club with high expectations, but past managers did not give him enough chances to live up to them, which prevented him from making much of an impression.
Gil reiterated his wish to remain at Tottenham and contend for a spot in the team this summer despite the transfer rumors that surfaced in the summer.
He won’t be able to play again until late October or early November due to his injuries.
His return from injury could be timely as the injuries to Perisic and Solomon may allow him an opportunity to impress the new manager.
Tottenham should not get rid of him mid-season, specially when they are already working with a thin squad.
Gil certainly has the quality to be an important squad member for Ange this season.
