James Maddison of Tottenham Hotspur has mocked Liverpool supporters who were demonstrating after their contentious Premier League match last month.Spurs defeated Jurgen Klopp’s team 2-1 courtesy to a late Joe Matip own goal, but the main talking points were the refereeing mistakes.
The VAR erroneously disallowed Luis Diaz’s opening goal for offside, depriving the Reds of a goal. Since then, Klopp and significant portions of the Liverpool fanbase have called for a repeat of the match, which Maddison has now mocked.
On his Instagram story, the former playmaker for Leicester City shared a photo with Trent Alexander-Arnold, a defender for the Liverpool team. Still requesting a replay (sleeping emoji), (laughing emoji), (love emoji), was the caption, which made fun of the circumstance.
When Spurs visited newly promoted Luton Town on Saturday afternoon, they put the matter to rest for the day. Ange Postecoglou’s team earned all three points despite being reduced to ten men in the first half when Yves Bissouma was dismissed, due to a second-half goal by Micky van de Ven.
As a result, the north Londoners are in first place in the Premier League heading into the international break, ahead of their nearby rivals Arsenal in terms of goals scored. On Monday, October 23, Tottenham will host Fulham, who are coached by Marco Silva.

Tottenham Hotspur defender Eric Dier has made his feelings clear on Twitter following penalty controversy during Aston Villa’s 1-1 draw at Wolves on Sunday.

The on-field referee and VAR concurred that there was no foul, although Eric Dier vehemently disputes this on Twitter.
Dermot Gallagher, an ex-referee, brought up that incident on Sky Sports over the weekend, to which Matt Doherty replied, “Never.”
As you can see in the image below, his old Tottenham teammate sent a straightforward one-word reply in response to that tweet.
Aston Villa’s penalty shout valid
Alan Shearer, the all-time leading scorer in the Premier League, may have been playing as a striker, but he believed Villa were unlucky and that a penalty should have been given.
In the end, Watkins was prevented from making a clear attempt on goal, and Doherty knew exactly what he was doing.
Given the outcome, it might have had a significant impact on the game, but this season, on-field refs and VAR have made far worse errors than the one from Molineux.
